These tools and gears are essential for getting me through a shift. I wouldn’t be able to provide the same level of care without them.
Some of these tools are so important and effective that I believe my quality of care would suffer without them.
Technology For Nurses
Best Watch and Fitness Trackers For Nurses
- Best Watch For Apple Users: Apple Watch
- Best Watch For Android Users: Samsung Galaxy Watch
- Best Fitbit For Nurses: Fitbit Versa 4
If you’re looking for a watch, I’d likely recommend getting a smartwatch due to the range of functionality it offers.
Some of these features include built-in reminders and timers, hands-free notifications from your phone, and step counting and physical activity tracking (if that’s important to you).
If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, the best option is the latest Apple Watch (or the previous generation).
If you’re in the Android ecosystem, both the Pixel Watch and the Samsung Galaxy Watch are solid choices.
I’ve tried both, and while you can’t really go wrong with either, I’m personally more partial to the Galaxy Watch for Android users.
If the smartwatch features aren’t particularly important to you and you’re more interested in a dedicated fitness tracker, there are other options available.
I think Fitbit is still probably the best choice for this purpose, but there are, of course, cheaper alternatives out there.
Non-Smartwatches
If you’re looking for something that’s not a smartwatch then you can’t go wrong with either the Seidel Petit Scrub Watch
For a more masculine loking watch consider the Casio Men’s Quartz watch.

Being a seasoned nurse, I’ve evaluated countless earbuds and narrowed it down to two that stand above the rest.
For the iPhone users among us, the Apple AirPods Pro is the way to go.
But if Android phones are more your speed, look no further than the Google Pixel Buds Pro.
Here’s why.
